MAN ARRESTED FOR UTTER DEATH THREATS

OPP Press Release

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - On Saturday November 3, 2018 at approximately 7:00 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on Elizabeth Street in Harriston to investigate a threats complaint. Police were advised that the victim had a verbal interaction in the hallway of the apartment building with a male known to him. Prior to entering into one of the units, the suspect threatened to harm the male victim.

Investigation revealed that the suspect had already received a trespass notice not to attend that address and was also bound by a court order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to communicate with the victim.

A 35-year-old male of no fixed address has been charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm and Fail To Comply with Probation Order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was arrested and held for a Bail Hearing.
