Megan Thoms-McDougall

Megan Thoms-McDougall is a local business professional, wife, mother and closet karaoke star. As a first generation Canadian with strong Scottish roots, she believes that Clan, Character and Community are all essential to a life well lived. She was born and raised in Fergus, and believes that Centre Wellington is the best place to work, play and raise a family! You may recognize her from her previous career in customer service as “the bank lady” at Td Canada Trust for more than a decade in downtown Fergus.

Since 2013 Megan has been continuing to provide local service and advice as a Real Estate Sales Representative with Your Hometown Realty Brokerage in nearby Elora. She enjoys sharing her passion and knowledge for Centre Wellington both professionally through her career in real estate and personally through volunteerism in the community.

In addition to volunteering as an on-air announcer with The Grand 101.1, she also volunteers as a committee member of the Fergus Scottish Festival, and has performed in or assisted with many local groups and events such as Culture Days, McGinnis Productions Theatre, Toast of the Towns Variety Shows, Wellington Waterloo Playhouse Productions and too many others over her lifetime to count!

When she’s not working Megan enjoys spending time with the family; husband Scott, son Malcolm and daughter Molly. They love getting out and about in Centre Wellington, swimming or skating at the Sportsplex, Saturday morning shopping at the Farmer’s Market in Bissell Park, taking a downtown stroll for a coffee or ice cream, or at any one of the fantastic local festivals and events throughout the year. If you see her, make sure you give a smile and a wave. She’ll be sure to do the same!
