I started my radio career way back in 1966. I wanted to become a radio announcer at age 7, and used to sit at home and pretend that I was on the radio. At the age of 15, I was lucky enough to be able to sneak in the back door of a radio station in my hometown of St. Catharines. From there, with the help of a local announcer, I was able to get my first job in Galt at CFTJ. My dream had come true at 17. After working in Galt for 10 months, and LOVING what I was doing, I moved on to other Ontario locations…Woodstock, Orillia, Peterborough, St Thomas, Kingston, and then strangely enough, back to CFTJ in Cambridge, where I first started. I retired from full-time radio in Guelph on August 31st. I celebrated my 50th year in radio on March 10th 2016, and I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have been able to live my dream for all of these years. I have known Scott Jensen, the President of The Grand @ 101 for over 30 years, so it made sense to me to contact him and let him know that I wanted to give back to the radio business. That’s what brings me to The Grand. I’ve come to know many wonderful people, and enjoy many friendships here in Centre Wellington. Join me weekday afternoons between 1 and 4pm for CENTRE WELLINGTONS BEST MUSIC and FUN on The Grand @101.
