FERGUS – Centre Wellington Council has granted a recently opened Osmow’s Restaurant in Fergus to leave their roof mounted sign up.
Back in July the restaurant located on Tower Street South in Fergus had its application for a sign variance denied by the Committee of Adjustment Decision to permit an existing and proposed second roof mounted sign.
The local business owner was able to appeal this decision at today’s Council meeting.
Pragnesh Patel, Owner of Osmow’s Fergus, said they would no longer be looking to get a second roof-mounted sign to face McQueen Blvd, however would like to leave the current roof-mounted sign up facing Tower Street.
In 2016, Council granted a variance to local business in the same plaza for their roof-mounted sign. Mayor Kelly Linton recommended that Council remain consistent in its decision and allow the Osmow’s sign to remain on the roof.
