CENTRE WELLINGTON – An individual has been arrested for several offences following an intimate partner violence investigation in Fergus.
On November 11, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at an address within Fergus.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old of Fergus, is charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Forcible confinement
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
- Failure to comply with Release Order – other than to attend court (two counts)
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victim(s).
