GUELPH- The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Guelph resident with stunt driving.
On June 23, 2025, at approximately 10:00 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Management Unit were conducting proactive traffic enforcement and observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, which led to a traffic stop being initiated on the Hanlon Parkway North within Guelph.
As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old from Guelph is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit
- Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
- Drive while passenger under 16 fails to properly wear a seat belt
Anyone charged with drive motor vehicle – perform stunt receives a 14-day vehicle impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court – Guelph, at a later date.
