NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Milton resident with two provincial offences stemming from a traffic stop, just north of Belwood Lake.
On July 17, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a proactive traffic enforcement initiative, when they observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, which lead to a traffic stop being initiated on Wellington Road 16 within Centre Wellington Township.
As a result of the investigation, a 57-year-old from Milton is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
- Speeding 50+ km/h over posted limit
- Drive – handheld communication device
