FERGUS – No injuries were reported following a vehicle fire north of Fergus Wednesday.
At around 10:12 am, Fergus firefighters were called to the intersection of Highway 6 and Nichol Road 15 for a reported truck fire.
Black smoke could be seen as crews responded.
Deputy Fire Chief Jason Benn told The Grand at 101 that a roll-off garbage truck caught fire.
Crews were able to contain the fire, and Benn said there were no injuries to the driver, but the driver was assessed on scene by Guelph Wellington Paramedics for smoke inhalation.
Crews have now cleared the scene and the truck has been towed.
