GUELPH – An Erin man was arrested following a hit-and-run collision Thursday night.
At around 10:20pm, Guelph Police say several witnesses reported seeing a pickup truck strike an SUV in a parking lot on Woodlawn Road West before driving away.
One witness said the driver of the pickup appeared to be drinking a beer.
An officer located and stopped the pickup a short distance away and noted alcohol on the driver’s breath. The officer conducted a roadside breath test which resulted in a warning and located an open can of beer beside the driver’s seat.
A 28-year-old Erin man is charged with failing to stop at an accident and driving with open alcohol.
