On Jan. 3, 2020 at 5:20 a.m., an adult male turned on his truck that was parked in the driveway of a residence located near the intersection of Gordon Street and Clair Road West in the City of Guelph. He then left the vehicle running while he walked his dog to the end of the street. When he turned around, he observed an unknown male walk up his driveway and open the door of his truck. He yelled at the male who entered the truck and placed it into reverse, heavily hitting the accelerator causing the truck to squeal the tires and reverse. He ran at the vehicle, opening the driver’s door, at which time the unknown male jumped out of the truck and ran away. He gave chase before hearing a crash and realized his truck had been put into drive at some point and driven into the neighbour’s vehicle.
Police attended the scene but were unable to locate the male. He is described as:
• 6’0
• Medium build
• Black clothing
• Black mask
