CENTRE WELLINGTON – “Keep the businesses we love, in business” is a primary focus for the Township, and the theme for the new Shop Local CW website that has officially launched to assist our local businesses during these unprecedented times.
A partnership between the Township and the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce sparked the idea that will give consumers the ability to visit www.shoplocalcw.ca and purchase gift cards online, then redeem those gift cards at a later time, once businesses have re-opened their doors.
“This is a challenging time for our local businesses” said Mayor Kelly Linton. “Many of our business owners are residents, members of our community and continue to need our support. They drive tourism and economic viability. This is our opportunity to support Centre Wellington’s small businesses, restaurants, and others. It’s time to shop local CW!”
“During this unprecedented time, we are hearing from many businesses that cash flow is their biggest challenge” said Dana Burdenuk, General Manager of the Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce (CWCC). “The success of our business community is at the core of our efforts here at CWCC. We’re proud to be partnering with the Township to offer this new online Shop Local CW platform. It’s important for all of us to do what we can to help businesses survive and thrive. Purchasing gift cards will help support our local businesses now and later!”
The list of businesses on the website continues to grow, and new additions are welcome so that when the site is launched, consumers can begin purchasing. Businesses can enroll by completing a form at www.centrewellington.ca/shopform. Any business, artist, festival or company that sells a service, product or experience that can be redeemed later is welcome to enroll.
