MEDIA RELEASE
Groves Hospital Foundation is excited to share that Polycorp Ltd. has completed a $50,000 donation to the New Groves Hospital Project. Polycorp made their initial pledge in 2016 and recently decided to accelerate their donation, in light of the current pandemic, to make the funds immediately available to Groves Hospital Foundation.
“Having been involved in fundraising and donations for a number of health care causes in the past, I understand how important donors are for maintaining the vital operations of any hospital.” Shared Peter Snucins, President & CEO of Polycorp Ltd; “Polycorp is proud to support the New Groves Hospital Project and we hope that we can inspire other local companies, our community, and other manufacturing plants to get involved by making their own gifts to Groves. We are also proud that our employees have independently decided to contribute to this initiative as well, which I will personally match.”
In recognition of Polycorp Ltd’s generous donation, the Treatment Area in the Ambulatory Care Centre of the New Groves Hospital will be named Polycorp Ltd. Treatment Area. The area will be used by a variety of clinicians within Ambulatory Care for the treatment of both inpatients and outpatients. Last year, over 15,100 visits were made, by patients, to the Ambulatory Care Centre at Groves Hospital. This number is sure to continue to grow as the community does, and will benefit from an expanded space within the new hospital.
“We are truly thankful for the support of corporate donors like Polycorp Ltd. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have now exceeded $19.7M of our $20M Campaign Goal to fund 10% of the build costs and nearly all of the equipment and technology to outfit the New Groves Hospital. We expect to move to the new hospital later this year and, thanks to donors like Polycorp, our staff will have an improved and expanded facility with state-of-the-art tools to continue to treat our patients, close to home. On behalf of Groves Hospital & Foundation, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Polycorp Ltd. and their employees for their fantastic support” stated Lori Arsenault, Executive Director of Groves Hospital Foundation.
