Canadian culinary author and food activist Anita Stewart has died.
The long-time resident of Elora passed away yesterday at the age of 73.
Stewart was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 2011 and Up until her passing, she served as Food Laureate of the Ontario Agricultural College at the University of Guelph. She was also the founder of Cuisines Canada and Food Day Canada.
Today Food Day Canada tweeted saying “Her spirit and passion for Canadian cuisine and the people who make it happen was unrivalled”.
