MEDIA RELEASE GUELPH POLICE
A 72-year-old Guelph male was banned from a south-end store after threatening a staff member during an argument Tuesday over mask use.
The Guelph Police Service was called Tuesday afternoon to the store on Edinburgh Road South near Stone Road West. The male was shopping in the store about 3:30 p.m. when an adult female employee asked him to wear his mask properly. The male became very irate and threatened to punch the employee in the face before being escorted out by a manager.
Police were able to identify the male, who was issued a trespassing notice banning him from returning to the store per staff’s wishes.
