NEWS RELEASE GRAND RIVER CONSERVATION AUTHORITY
Grand River Parks are following provincial and local public health guidelines regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the new Reopening Ontario framework, overnight recreational camping is permitted to resume on June 11 and all conservation areas that offer this activity will be open for nightly camping beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. All guests are expected to follow all provincial and local public health regulations, including gathering limits and physical distancing requirements.
Any overnight recreational camping reservations made up to, and including June 10, will receive an automatic refund.
Shower and washroom facilities will be open in campgrounds and we ask that all of our guests be mindful that, even with enhanced cleaning routines at our parks, each guest needs to do their part to ensure these facilities are left clean and safe for everyone.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic conservation areas are operating with a reduced capacity and not all campsites are available. Day-use areas also have reduced capacities and guests are expected to follow all local public health guidelines. Washroom facilities are open in day-use areas. GRCA boat rental and food concessions are closed for the season, as are swimming pools at Brant and Byng Island conservation areas and the splash pad at Elora Gorge Conservation Area.
Before visiting our parks, it’s critical that visitors check real-time park status information at www.grandriver.ca/parkstatus to determine whether a park is open or has reached its operating capacity.
