The first annual Fergus Beerfest is quickly approaching.
Organizer Paul Goldsworthy says as a Fergus resident, if he ever wanted to attend a beerfest, it meant travelling to a different city or town.
He says as a local brewer he wanted to give residents something they could enjoy in their own backyard.
Plans for a traditional beerfest for the area were put on hold after COVID-19 hit, but organizers say local brewers were still looking for a way to connect with the community.
Goldsworthy says they decided to move forward with a digital and distanced event to allow residents to experience what local companies have to offer.
Goldsworthy says even though there are no beer tents, there is the beerfest box.
A VIP package is also available where participants can enjoy a variety of online content including brewery tours, interviews, competitions and more beginning on October 30.
You can go to Fergusbeerfest.ca for prices and events.
