A large warehouse is proposed for south Elora.
Aosom Canada Inc. wants to build a 575,000 square foot distribution warehouse located at 32 First Line in Elora, just east of Wellington Road 7, pending a site plan approval.
The company is a Chinese e-commerce business that imports goods from Asia.
Managing Director of Infrastructure Services for Centre Wellington, Colin Baker, said there is no rezoning required and says the company already as a permit for site alterations.
Meanwhile, the county is looking at constructing a roundabout near the site of the warehouse due to expected growth in the area and County of Wellington Engineer Don Kudo says staff is currently reviewing a traffic impact study.
The contractor has indicated the warehouse will feature 56 loading docks and 111 employee parking spaces.
If the site plan is approved, the next step would be for the company to apply for building permits.
