A Guelph teenager has been charged in connection with a flood that shut down part of the Guelph General Hospital’s emergency department and caused more than $5,000 in damage.
The teen was at the hospital waiting to be seen December 4 and was given a book by security to keep her occupied. She used the book to twice strike the overhead sprinkler system. Water flooded out for approximately 40 minutes before staff were able to turn it off.
A 17-year-old Guelph female was arrested Tuesday and has been charged with mischief over $5,000. She will appear in a Guelph court February 23, 2022.
