NEWS RELEASE COUNTY OF WELLINGTON
ABOYNE, ON –Today, the Oak Glen neighbourhood at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care Home was placed in COVID-19 Outbreak by Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH). Four residents have recently tested positive. At this time, all residents are experiencing mild symptoms. No employee cases are connected to this outbreak.
Wellington Terrace staff immediately responded to the situation with direction from WDGPH to limit further transmission of the virus. Employees will continue to follow extensive infection control processes that follow Ministry of Health directives and are guided by WDGPH.
Wellington Terrace employees are rapid tested more frequently than the current Ministry of Health requirement. All visitors are rapid tested every time they enter Wellington Terrace.
If no additional cases are found the outbreak will be declared over on Friday, April 8.
