FERGUS – An Ontario Trillium Foundation Resilient Communities Fund grant of $28,000 was awarded to Fergus Agricultural Society in 2021. It was completed earlier this year.
Tayler Black, past president of the Fergus Agricultural Society says the grant enabled the volunteer organization to facilitate a stakeholder survey and purchase health and safety equipment for use at the Fergus Fall Fair and other community events.
Black says the timing of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant has had a profound impact on their organization.
“We are very grateful to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for supporting the Fergus Fall Fair,” said Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott in a news release. “This year’s Fair promises to be the best one yet, as we safely welcome people back to our annual celebration of agriculture and our rural heritage.”
The Fergus Fall Fair is an annual showcase of local agriculture, food, talent and rural fun. While the last two in-person fairs were cancelled due to the pandemic, the 185th fair is planned for September 16-18, 2022 at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex.
