WELLINGTON COUNTY – Ted Arnott MPP for Wellington-Halton Hills has announced he will seek another term in the 2022 provincial election.
“Quite simply, after the pandemic is over, there will be work to do, trust to be restored, and a Province to rebuild,” Arnott said in a press release.
This is Arnott’s ninth provincial election campaign as a candidate.
“I intend to make no promises except my best efforts on behalf of the people of our Riding. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it is the future is uncertain, and each of us must do our part to make our communities stronger, safer, more compassionate and more sustainable.”
Arnott says with the rising cost of living, essentials such as groceries, fuel and housing are becoming unaffordable for many people.
“All orders of government must work together to confront inflation and keep Ontario’s economy on track,” Arnott said. “Health care, long term care, education, the protection of our environment, and support for farm families and agribusiness must remain priorities, while we encourage fairness, tolerance, inclusivity, and caring in our society.”
Arnott has also served as Speaker of the House since 2018.
In the Wellington-Halton Hills seat, Arnott will face Diane Ballantyne of the NDP, Ryan Kahro of the Green Party, and Stephen Kitras of the New Blue Party.
