It’s a reminder for those in the catchment area for Louise Marshall Hopital in Mount Forest. The emergency department at the facility will be closed for some lengthy stretches this weekend.
The ED will close both Saturday and Sunday night at 5 pm, not reopening until 7 the next morning.
The closure is the result of a “gap in nursing coverage”.
The hospital is the latest in a series of small community hospital closures over the past few weeks. Wingham Hospital’s ER was closed for the same hours just last weekend.
The CEO of the hospital, Angela Stanley, told The Grand 101 earlier this week, there is no guarantee there will not be more closures.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should call 9-1-1. Paramedics will get you to the nearest Emergency Department for care.
