FERGUS – Some residents in Fergus experienced a power outage Monday evening due to what Centre Wellington Hydro says was a broken hydro pole.
At around 6:42pm Centre Wellington Fire & Rescue was called for a reported hydro pole transformer fire at an address on Wellington Road 19 east of Fergus.
At around 7:43pm Centre Wellington Hydro tweeted that they were aware of the power outage affecting Fergus customers.
CW Hydro said this was do to a broken pole.

Later in the evening at around 8:40pm CW Hydro gave an update saying power had been restored to their customers.

There is no word on what caused the Hydro pole to break.
Wellington North Power also tweeted Monday evening noting that some Arthur residents were experiencing a power outage too.
Power Outage in Arthur. There is a broken pole that carries the Hydro One's Fergus Transmission line – this line also supplies the hydro to Arthur. Hydro One crews have been dispatched. Restoration time is currently not known
