FERGUS – A ribbon cutting was held at a Fergus park Thursday afternoon, following some upgrades.
The grand opening of Forfar park took place to celebrate the new additions to the park.
Mayor Kelly Linton says the upgrades that have been made are very exciting.
Located off off Gartshore Street along the Elora Cataract trail in north Fergus, the park now is home to a shade structure, junior soccer field and playground with seating.
The park has outdoor fitness equipment donated by Centre Wellington Remedy’s RX in Fergus.
Rachel Luther Pharmacist Owner said a few years ago she wanted to do something different with their donations to support the community.
Mayor Kelly Linton said the park now offers not only equipment for children, but for all ages.
He says parents can enjoy the fitness amenities while children are playing with friends, or those walking the trail can stop in for another recreational experience.
