CENTRE WELLINGTON – Groves Hospital & Foundation has received a gift right before the holidays.
Alex and Deb Beath both lifelong residents of the Wellington County area have made a donation of $500,000 to the hospital.
They have two children (Dineen & Jeffery) and two grandchildren (Brooklyn & Sydney). The Beaths owned and operated two businesses in Guelph; Jefdin Enterprises Ltd., an electrical mechanical service business (named after their two children), and Artemis Technologies Inc., an oral rabies wildlife vaccine company; which they sold recently.
After the sale of Artemis, they wished to show their support to the community that had been home to their businesses and family for so many years.
Foundation Executive Director, Lori Arsenault says the Hospital & Foundation is very excited to receive this donation.
Arsenault says their transformational donation will go directly to fund 9 items on the 2022-23 Capital List for the hospital; including both the new Ultrasound and PACS (Picture Archiving & Communication System) for Diagnostic Imaging.
In a press release Alex shared; “We decided to give back to the local hospitals in the area that were there when we needed them. We chose items off Groves Hospital Foundation’s “Wish List” that we thought were important to us. One example of this is the blanket warmer, which I thoroughly appreciated during a recent stay at Groves.”
Deb added; “Groves is a great, growing facility and it is well-located to serve the community. We would like to acknowledge the excellent care supplied by Dr. Stickney, Dr. Enver, Dr. Incitti and the wonderful nursing staff there.”
Alex & Deb finished; “Hopefully the new items we funded will attract new physicians to the area, as well as retain the current staff, and allow them to provide better care for all patients. Groves is close to our heart because both of our granddaughters, the lights of our lives, were born there!”
