Freezing drizzle advisory in effect for:
- Guelph – Erin – Southern Wellington County
- Kitchener – Cambridge – Region of Waterloo
Areas of freezing drizzle continue into this afternoon.
Hazard:
Periods of freezing drizzle with icy and slippery conditions.
Timing:
Now into this afternoon.
Discussion:
Periods of freezing drizzle are expected into this afternoon. Temperatures are forecast to briefly rise above zero later this afternoon, bringing an end to the freezing drizzle.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Freezing drizzle can produce thin, hard-to-detect layers of ice. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
Freezing drizzle advisories are issued when drizzle falling in sub-zero temperatures is expected to freeze on contact, and over time create icy surfaces.
Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
