An Erin school has been recognized as one of the top fundraisers for the Terry Fox Foundation.
The top 50 Terry Fox Run fundraising schools were announced in a list from the Terry Fox Foundation. The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) announced Erin District High School (EDHS) made the list, ranking 18th in the secondary division.
It is one of the board’s smaller schools, made up of around 500 students.
EDHS teacher Jocelyn Wombwell praised the community for their generosity, saying the school is so grateful to everyone involved. Wombwell went on to say that she is hopeful the school can continue to shed light on Fox’s legacy for years to come.
EDHS has now raised nearly $200,000 for cancer research since the Terry Fox Run began over 30 years ago.
