WELLINGTON COUNTY – The County of Wellington Solid Waste Services are out with a few minders for residents at the warmer weather arrives.
With Spring here, more and more people are beginning to work on their yards.
Dos Soligo the County of Wellington’s Manager of Solid Waste Services says the county has begun leaf and yard waste pickup in the urban areas as of Tuesday.
Leaf and yard waste is collected in urban areas only, from April through November, the County also accepts leaf and yard waste at all six County waste facilities.

Meanwhile, Soligo is also reminding residents to use the municipal style blue bins for their recycling.
He says workers have sometimes seen residents using a milk crate, a laundry basket or a rubber made container to set out their recycling which he says is not allowed.
Hey says the municipal style blue recycle bins can be from Wellington County or if you your moved from another are those are fine too.

Soligo says if you are in need of a blue recycle bin, they can be picked up at the local waste facilities.
