A born and raised Guelph resident’s family company will be bringing jobs to Elora, with a brand new 50,000-square-foot home appliance manufacturing plant.
The Stirling Marathon plant, on Park Road in Elora, will mark the first residential appliance manufacturer with a factory footprint in the country.
Phil Greenway, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Stirling, says employing area residents is of great importance.
Greenway, who works alongside his father and grandfather, stated that 50 jobs will be brought to the area over the next four years.
The company has grown exponentially since it began less than a decade ago, Greenway was proud to say. He said this was always the vision, however, and the plant will supply not only big conglomerates, but local businesses as well.
Greenway hopes the company’s domestic production will give them more control over what they produce and differentiate Stirling from the pack.
