The Grand Valley Trail Association (GVTA) has a lot on the docket in the coming weeks, including an upcoming end-to-end hike of the Belwood section of their Wellington County trail.
Jessica Leger, Trail Director at the GVTA, explains that they are in dire need of volunteers in order to have smooth operations this season.
She also noted that trail captains are the “real MVP’s” and are on the trail the most to maintain markings that keep people safe and protect wildlife along the trail.
The trail will also soon be unveiling a new cairn at the Belwood portion, and Jason Thompson, Vice President of Trail Maintenance, says that markings on trees are crucial, and they are hoping to add to them.
The end-to-end hike will take place tomorrow. The nature spans many kilometres, as the trail reaches Lake Erie at its end.
