FERGUS – Provost Lane in Downtown Fergus is now closed for the summer.
The section of road between St. Andrew Street West to just beyond the back of the buildings on Andrew Street West will be closed until October 31st.
Tala Jenkins Chair of the Fergus BIA says this year they are introducing the “Provost Pavilion”.
“This is a great structure that takes up Provost Lane with lots of seating, picnic benches, sun cover, etc,” said Jenkins in an email to The Grand at 101, “The space is very versatile and we hope to use the space for many fun events!”
This year Jenkins says the Fergus BIA is hoping to introduce the “Fergus Village Market” at the Provost Pavilion on Sundays and a “Pizza Social” where people can see the new space and meet some of their community.
She says details are still in the works.
The Pavilion is owned by the BIA so Jenkins says it’s rentable by anyone in the community who’d like to use the space for their events and activities.
“They can contact us directly if they’d like to book the space. We’re hoping to make the Provost Pavilion a summertime hub that’s a communal space for everyone to come together to enjoy!” Jenkins said.
