GUELPH – For the first time in 25 years the Upper Grand District School Board has a new look.
A new logo for the school board was approved by trustees at last Tuesday night’s board meeting.
Heather Loney, Communications Manager says following the approval of the UGDSB’s Multi-Year Plan (MYP) 2022-2026, staff began work on developing a new visual identity for the school board.
The work stretched from November 2022 to May 2023.
Loney, says consultation was a big part of the process and included the establishment of a diverse Working Group.
She says the new logo consists of the letter ‘u’ for UGDSB with panels of different colours surrounding it.
Loney says, now that the logo has been approved, the plan is for staff to work with students to gather ideas and input on a slogan to accompany the new logo.
She says staff will also begin a phased approach to implementing the new logo, including conducting an audit of the previous visual identity, developing a plan to retire the previous identity, and developing a plan and budget to implement the new visual identity.
This process will also include the development of a communications policy that will contemplate the use of the new logo moving forward.
