Donations are needed to send kids to camp this summer.
$250 can send a child to camp for a week, according to Suzanne Bone, interim CEO of Children’s Foundation of Guelph Wellington.
Bone is hoping to raise $50,000.
In her opinion, the important part of camp is simply allowing children to be themselves.
Bone stated that getting away from screens is beneficial and that the opportunities for kids at camp are vast.
She says the foundation doesn’t send kids to one specific camp. It provides them the opportunity to explore their unique interests at a camp of their choice.
Bone says they have the chance to gain new skills or build on something they already enjoy.
Aiming to help children develop skills, gain confidence, and make lasting friendships, Bone reminds area residents they can head to childrensfoundation.org to donate.
