Township of Centre Wellington council authorized the Mayor and Clerk to execute a Connecting Links Program Contribution Agreement with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation last night.
The agreement will permit the reconstruction of St. David Street North from St. Andrew Street to Edinburgh Avenue in Fergus. A contract award was also approved for detailed design, excess soils characterization, and contract document preparation to Triton Engineering.
In April, the township was told it was selected for Connecting Links grant funding for project. The total MTO contribution to the project is nearly $3 million.
Construction is slated to begin in 2024.
