WELLINGTON NORTH – The City of Guelph is working towards a five-year extension with Wellington North to continue providing bylaw enforcement for the township.
In January 2022, the City of Guelph’s Corporate and Community Safety Division entered into a one-year pilot project with the Township of Wellington North to provide by-law enforcement services including zoning, property standards, land maintenance, business licensing, and swimming pool enclosure bylaws in Wellington North.
According to a report released on Friday, city staff say the pilot project has been deemed to be a success and beneficial for both municipalities.
As a result, city staff say they will be working to extend the agreement for another five years.
Once a contract has been agreed upon, a by-law will be presented to both respective Councils to confirm the agreement.
