Following a lengthy discussion at a recent council meeting, Wellington North Township has decided to keep its four wards currently in place.
A report presented to council Monday offered several options for how to structure wards, including an East/West boundary model.
That option was quickly dismissed by Councillor Sherry Burke.
She says she doesn’t believe it would fix populational divides.
Councillor Penny Renken thought the East/West idea would be troubling for residents.
Council decided to opt against both that idea, and an at-large system, settling on the current ward system.
Four wards are in place throughout the township.
