A new café is hopping into business in Belwood.
Mad Hatter Bake and Brew Bunny Café will become the province’s first outdoor bunny café when they open Thursday.
Sarah Murray, whose near dozen bunnies will hop at the feet of customers, says these creatures have not only grown up together, but are also a rather lethargic breed that tend to just want to “hang out.”
This makes them ideal to be a part of the experience taking place outside the Skol House.
Murray says there will be a light menu of bistro sandwiches, milkshakes, ice cream and other desserts available.
She added she struggled with mental health during the pandemic and wanted to give kids and adults alike a comforting and fun opportunity.
Murray says the location and nature of the business is very therapeutic.
Murray went on to say being the first outdoor bunny café in Ontario is “kind of neat” but didn’t come without its challenges.
There will be weekly movie nights at the café starting at 9 PM on Thursdays.
