The Drayton Fair, taking place this weekend, will provide an educational, kid-friendly zone despite a lack of “manpower.”
There will be a few ag spotlight booths, but organizers say these will be limited due to this staffing shortage.
Most of the attractions will attempt to inspire a lifelong love of agriculture, which fair treasurer Arlie Zantinge believes is crucial to keep events like this in the community.
Zantinge encourages community members to show up and support an event that she says is admittedly hard to maintain financially.
She says she believes it will be hugely beneficial for young ones in attendance to learn the ins and outs of farming.
The fair will take place all weekend long, and Zantinge says this event is often one to inspire attendees to head to larger fairs.
Although the fair is undermanned this year, Zantinge says there will be livestock exhibits present.
