MINTO – A proposed development in Palmerston was met with accessibility concerns by a member of council in Minto Tuesday.
The 100-unit proposal includes 40 street townhouses and 60 cluster townhouse units.
At a public meeting Tuesday afternoon, Town of Minto Deputy Mayor Jean Anderson raised issues regarding accessibility and stairs between floors of the proposed multi-story townhouses.
The developer stated stairlifts could be utilized to mitigate these worries. They added as soon as a development contains more than 25 units, 65 per cent of those units need to be accessible – and that could be made possible.
100 units is up from 42 in the early stages of the process. The developer provided a note of support from a neighbouring landowner.
They also said they have analyzed traffic and will re-evaluate the main intersection during phase two of construction.
