CENTRE WELLINGTON – The Township of Centre Wellington is set to hold an open house tonight regarding five closed bridges in former Pilkington Township.
The township will hold a public information centre at Bethel Mennonite Church in Elora tonight from 6pm to 8pm.
The township says it is conducting a municipal class environmental assessment to evaluate options and select a preferred alternative for the five bridges.
The bridges are located within a twenty-square-kilometre area of road networks in the former Township of Pilkington and are currently closed to vehicular traffic due to their deteriorated state.
- Bridge 1-P Sideroad 5, between 8th Line W and 3rd Line W
- Bridge 28-P Side Road 11, Between 8th Line W and 3rd Line W
- Bridge 30-P Side Road 5, West of Wellington Road 7
- Bridge 32-P Noah Road, 0.75km West of 8th Line W
- Bridge 33-P Noah Road, 0.65km West of 8th Line W
The township says the study will evaluate the role of the structures within the overall transportation network and connectivity in the local community and determine the most suitable alternative at each location.
Residents are invited to attend the open house which will be held at Bethel Mennonite Church tonight (Wednesday, Sept 6th) from 6pm to 8pm.
