CENTRE WELLINGTON – Termites will be addressed in Centre Wellington following a Monday night approval to enter into negotiations with Termite Management Services Inc..
The move from council has a simple goal, according to township Managing Director of Corporate Services and Treasurer Adam McNabb, but he says the process will be closely monitored.
Council first shed light on the issue of termites in 2016, when they directed staff to review its approach and make recommendations regarding termites.
While the management plan will cost council nearly $1.4 million over the five-year span, McNabb pointed out some of these funds are already accounted for.
After investigating target areas in 2020, and one unsuccessful request for proposal, a July request saw two responses.
One of those responses was Termite Management Services, with whom work will begin immediately following the completion of a successful negotiation process.
The program is set to run until the end of 2028.
