ERIN – A pair of proposed developments in Erin and Hillsburgh are bracing for changes following consultation with staff, and public input from residents.
A public meeting was held in early June for a property located at 5525 Eighth Line in Erin.
Developer Empire Communities is requesting that the town allow them to begin site alteration since the Erin Heights Golf Course wrapped up their season on September 30th, 2023.
A report states this will also allow for vegetation and tree removal outside of the bird nesting season. The proposal consists of a residential subdivision with 288 residential units, a park and stormwater management facilities.
Meanwhile, in Hillsburgh, developers Hillsburgh Heights hope to create a more appropriate transition between proposed dwellings and the existing infrastructure on the property located at 5916 Trafalgar Road in Hillsburgh.
Currently, a single detached dwelling, a barn, and drive sheds occupy the lands and have been deemed to have heritage value.
195 detached dwellings, 174 townhouse dwelling units, and one existing heritage dwelling are proposed for the land.
Site alteration applications will be before council at a meeting Thursday for both properties.
The meeting begins at 3 p.m. in Erin.
