Ryan Deska, Director of Community Engagement and Development says this new build will include a 32 unit townhouse development called “Garafraxa Village”.
Deska points out they are trying to ensure those market units are being kept affordable by the provincial definition.
He says so far the Community Bonds program has raised over $4 million dollars in just over a year.
The program allows people to invest directly in affordable housing solutions through Habitat for Humanity Guelph Wellington.
Deska says servicing of the the site has already begun, and they look to start pouring foundations later this month or in early December.
