FERGUS – A provincial inspection at Wellington Terrace in September found two “critical incidents” of abuse.
Earlier this year, the county’s Information, Heritage and Seniors committee was told of several “critical incidents” of abuse that led to the termination of one PSW.
Those incidents involved verbal abuse and rough treatment of residents.
In the most recent inspection, Wellington Terrace received seven written notifications of compliance issues.
They were in relation to resident care and support services, continence care, prevention of abuse and neglect and, infection prevention.
Of those seven notifications, half detailed issues with PSWs not providing adequate care.
