MAPLETON – A salary increase is being proposed for Mapleton council.
Staff are recommending council approve salary increases for both the mayor and councillors in 2024.
The reports suggests an increase for the mayor and council to bring their salaries, up to what it says, is average for 2024 and states that currently their pay is the lowest in Wellington County.
If the increase was to pass Mayor Gregg Davidson would make $35,482 and councillors about $21,800.
Davidson was scheduled to make $26,939, and councillors would earn $18,772, according to the 2023 budget.
Council pay was last reviewed five years ago.
