CENTRE WELLINGTON – A new housing development is being proposed in Belwood.
The developer, BelCal Inc. is proposing to build 107 single detached homes on land near the intersection of Wellington Road 19 and 7th Line.

A majority of the site is currently agricultural land with woodlots and watercourses. It is also surrounded by the Belwood hamlet to the south, and a forested area to the north, and field crop production to the east and west.
According to a planning justification report to the County of Wellington, each home is expected to have a double-car garage with additional parking for a minimum of two cars within each driveway.
The proposed development will have two entrances, one on Wellington Road 19 and one on 7th Line.
The application can get approval from county planning staff, however the report notes the developer will need to apply for a zoning bylaw amendment with the Centre Wellington Township, which would also include a public meeting.
