ERIN – 25 “significant” drinking water threats have been identified in the town of Erin, spanning across eight properties.
In 2015, 479 activities were identified as drinking water risks within the town.
A report says the deadline to establish risk management plans has been extended twice, most recently by the province to December 31st, 2025.
A risk management plan is required for properties that present substantial drinking water dangers.
The report states most of these properties are within the Region of Halton wellhead protection areas along the Halton-Erin Townline.
The document says the town is subject to several source water protection plans including the Credit Valley, Toronto and Region and Central Lake Ontario (CTC) Plan, as well as the Grand River Plan.
The report will be received for information at Thursday’s meeting in Erin.
It is available, via the Town of Erin’s infrastructure services.
