NEWS RELEASE DUFFERIN OPP
(GRAND VALLEY, ON) – As a result of a thorough investigation, members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in connection to a slew of residential break and enters.
On December 19, 2023, members of the Dufferin Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of the Offender Management and Apprehension Program (OMAP), arrested and charged a male and female in relation to multiple break and enters that took place at the end of November, 2023. The charged parties are accused of breaking into seasonal residential homes at a resort, in the Town of Grand Valley.
A 43-year-old from Grand Valley has been charged with:
- Break, Enter a place- with the intent to commit indictable offence- (16 counts)
- Theft Under $5,000- (5 counts)
- Mischief Under $5,000- (13 counts)
A 40-year-old from Orangeville has been charged with:
- Break, Enter a place- with the intent to commit indictable offence- (16 counts)
- Theft Under $5,000- (5 counts)
- Mischief Under $5,000- (13 counts)
The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville, to answer to the charges in January 2024.
