NEWS RELEASE WELLINGTON COUNTY OPP
(WELLINGTON COUNTY) – Members of the Wellington Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
On December 29, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash on Highway 6 between Eighth Line and Sideroad 6 South.
Preliminary investigation indicates the two vehicles collided head-on. The driver of one of the vehicles, a 40-year-old individual from Fergus, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 30-year-old driver of the other vehicle was transported to hospital in Guelph with minor injuries.
Members of Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service and Guelph Fire Department assisted in the response to this incident.
No charges have been laid in this ongoing investigation.
