WELLINGTON COUNTY – A health and housing symposium for Wellington County staff will aim to establish the framework and key objectives for a new community action plan.
Homelessness will be a focus at the event in which officials will address issues that are “essential to the social and economic development of our communities,” according to a report.
The report goes on to say Social services alongside health services, community agencies, and municipalities are usually the first point of contact for people who are experiencing homelessness and whose health and housing are most precarious.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, all these services have reported a significant increase in the number and acuity of people in need of services.
The convention will take place in Guelph on n Tuesday January 30 and Wednesday January 31, 2024, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
